Augustin Gallet, founder of Cape Pebble

The founder

Augustin Gallet. Twenty years in the trade.

I spent twenty years in business systems and data, from both sides of the table: in-house IT officer, project manager on an international rollout across three continents, consultant at an integrator, then running my own firm, Cape Pebble, since 2014. More than fifty projects delivered, from scoping to go-live: solution choice, design, data migration, integration, business intelligence, change management, cutover. Successes, and a few derailments I learned more from.

That trade taught me one thing technology does not replace: a project does not succeed because the tool is good, but because the process was understood before it was tooled, and because somebody measured the result. My favourite ground is data: making two systems that ignore each other talk, migrating a history without loss, building business intelligence the management can trust.

I now add AI and automation to that trade, and I keep building: I design and run processing chains in production, with their unit costs, their monitoring and their compliance constraints. So I know what what I recommend actually costs.

That is where the recommendations come from. I talk process and P&L before technology, and when a solution does not pay for itself, I say so. I work from Lyon, on both sides of the Swiss border (Geneva, Lausanne, Annecy). I spent years working with clients in Paris and still go back regularly, as I do anywhere in France when the project calls for it.

Manifesto

Why Cape Pebble exists.

An SME rarely has a technology problem. It has tools that do not talk to each other, figures that differ from one system to the next, backups that have never been tested, data re-keyed by hand, stacked subscriptions, AI used on the quiet with customer data, and nobody to take the subject end to end. Between the IT outsourcer who troubleshoots, the integrator who sells its product and the consultancy that delivers slides, the business leader decides alone.

That is why Cape Pebble exists. Whatever the question, we bring a solution and we implement it. We start with what you have: processes, tools, data, infrastructure, costs, compliance. We make your tools talk and your figures speak, because nothing holds without clean data, AI least of all. We present the needs and a costed plan. Then we implement, training your teams and handing you the keys. AI and automation are our most powerful tools; they are not the only ones, and we know when not to use them.

We sell no licences, we take no commission. Our prices are public, and so is our method. When a solution does not pay for itself, we say so.

§ 03

The name

One name, since 2014.

Cape Pebble has been my firm since 2014, and the advisory work for SMEs carries its name. One name for the company and for the trade: those who have entrusted projects to me already know it, and a business leader should not have to remember two brands.

The promise is not in the name, it is in the method: measure before recommending, then bring each company to the right temperature. Neither the hype that burns, nor the inertia that lets things go cold.

§ 04

The Cape Pebble commitments

Written into every proposal, and binding.

  1. 01

    Price stated before we start

Written fixed prices, no day-rate billing in disguise. You know what you are paying before day one.

  2. 02

One figure before, one figure after

Every solution has an indicator agreed together and measured. No measurement, no assignment.

  3. 03

    You keep the keys

Code, access, documentation and training are handed over to you. Cape Pebble must be able to disappear without anything stopping.

  4. 04

    Complete independence

No licences resold, no commission from any software vendor, host or integrator. The advice has only one client: you.

  5. 05

    The truth about profitability

If a solution does not pay for itself, the plan says so, and Cape Pebble does not propose it.

§ 05

How we work

Alone, with partners, soon as a collective.

What Augustin does himself

Audits, solutions plans, choosing and delivering ERP, CRM and business intelligence, system integrations and data migrations, automation and AI, infrastructure and security, dashboards, compliance, training, seminars. The senior you meet is the one who does the work.

With identified partners

Network and hardware, heavy development, design, specialist legal counsel, day-to-day managed IT. Always under Cape Pebble's responsibility, without commission, with a clear contract.

The collective, in the making

Cape Pebble aims to bring together a few independent consultants with complementary expertise (finance, HR, marketing, manufacturing, cybersecurity), sharing the method, the commitments and the public prices. You are a consultant and this sounds like you? Write to us.

What we do not do

24/7 managed IT services and level 1 support (we refer you to a partner), consumer application development, resale of licences or hardware with a mark-up, long-term day-rate assignments above three days a week, projects without a result indicator accepted by the client.

§ 06

Frequently asked questions

Everything we get asked before signing.

01Where do I start if I don't know what I need?

With the Audit of what you have. In three weeks, you get a factual assessment of your processes, tools, data, infrastructure, costs and compliance, then a costed solutions plan. If you first want an idea in five minutes, the Cape Pebble Thermometer is free.

02Do you only do AI?

No. Our foundation is business systems and data. AI and automation are our spearhead because that is where the value is highest in 2026, but they do not work without clean data. And the right solution is often a properly configured ERP, a tested backup or a CRM connected to the accounts. We know when not to use AI.

03Our software tools do not talk to each other. Is that your job?

Yes, it is the heart of the trade. Connecting the ERP to the online shop or to the accounts, migrating years of history when you change software, building a dashboard whose figures match from one tool to the next: we have been doing this for twenty years. Connecting two tools and migrating data are fixed-price packages in the catalogue, with automatic checks on discrepancies.

04Why publish your prices?

Because a managing director should be able to decide without ten meetings. The ranges are public, the fixed price is written down before we start, and there is no disguised time-and-materials billing.

05Are you on your own?

Cape Pebble is the firm of Augustin Gallet, twenty years of business systems and data (ERP, CRM, business intelligence, databases), who carries out the assignments himself. For broad scopes (network, heavy development, hardware), he works with identified partners, under his responsibility. A collective of independent consultants with complementary expertise is being built.

06We already have an IT provider. Does this replace them?

No, it complements them. The managed service provider handles the day-to-day (workstations, troubleshooting). Cape Pebble audits, decides and implements the solutions that change how the business runs. We are glad to work with your provider.

07How do you know it works?

Every solution has an indicator agreed before we start and measured afterwards: processing time, hours freed up, cost per transaction, restore time. No measurement, no assignment.

08And if no solution pays off?

The plan says so, in black and white, and Cape Pebble proposes nothing further. You have paid for an audit that saves you from pointless spending.

09What stays with us at the end?

Everything: code, access, documentation, procedures, trained teams. Cape Pebble must be able to disappear without anything stopping. It is written into our commitments.

10What about the GDPR and the AI Act?

Treated as design constraints, not as a brake. The AI training obligation has applied since February 2025, transparency since August 2026. We build registers, risk analyses and retention policies into systems from the design stage: we know what it takes, and what it does not.

11Is there any funding available?

Yes, depending on your situation: IA Booster France 2030 (Bpifrance, until 31 December 2026) for AI solutions, the OPCOs for training delivered through a certified body, regional grants for digital transformation. We point them out in every proposal.
